Scientific Linux 5.0From SL WWW: "Scientific Linux is a Linux release put together by Fermilab, CERN, and various other labs and universities around the world. Its primary purpose is to reduce duplicated effort of the labs, and to have a common install base for the various experimenters. They can't say it but I may: Scientific Linux is de facto recompiled Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Thanks to the sources Red Hat made available to Open Source community.
Scientific Linux Live System (SL LiveCD 5.0)From SL LiveCD WWW: "The Scientific Linux Live CD/DVD is a bootable CD/DVD that runs Linux directly from CD/DVD without installing (like Knoppix and many others). It is based on Scientific Linux (SL), which is recompiled from RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) sources. It uses Unification File System (unionfs) in case of SL4 and Another Unionfs (aufs) in case of SL5, allowing read-only filesystem to behave as a writable one and squashfs providing on-the-fly decompression that allows to store 2GB software on a normal CD-ROM. The Live CD/DVDs were built using modified scripts from www.linux-live.org. There are several LiveCD flavors. I like experimental version mini_livecd_SL50_2007-06-12.iso (~230 MB). But both the Mini LiveCD and the livecd_SL50_gnome_2007-05-25.iso lacks icons for additional applications and menu files for IceWM. Mini LiveCD is distributed without Gnome but with IceWM, and LiveCD has GNOME and IceWM. Lack of the files coerce users to additional works. I've made the files and you can download them. Have a fun.

Download Files
1.) sl_icewm_icons.tar.gz - xpm icons for IceWM (usr/share/icewm/icons)
